There are millions of eye surgeries performed in the U.S. every day to treat a wide variety of conditions and diseases, but finding out that you need eye surgery can seem frightening. After all, your eyes are a very important part of your life, and it’s important to know that you’re getting the best possible eye care before, during, and after your surgery to ensure you can get back to normal as quickly as possible.
Pre-Operative Procedures
From the moment you find out that you need eye surgery, our staff is here to help answer any questions and assist you with scheduling your procedure. If you require tests or other diagnostics in advance, we will schedule it so it’s as convenient as possible.
The surgeons and staff will also provide you with clear, detailed pre-operative instructions so you can plan out what you are able to eat or drink, and when, for a safe and effective surgical procedure. Throughout the entire process, please feel free to call or stop by and ask questions so you have a clear understanding of what will happen on the day of your surgery, and what you need to do to prepare.
Post-Surgery Management
Most of our procedures are very quick outpatient procedures that are finished in less than 30 minutes. However, to account for the time it takes to prepare your eyes for surgery, allow the numbing agent to take effect, complete the procedure, and recover significantly, you should plan to be at the surgical center for a few hours.
Since your procedure will affect your eyesight, you will need to make arrangements for someone else to drive you home, and it’s best if you do not make plans for the rest of the day.
Whether you’re coming in for a cosmetic procedure to improve your vision through LASIK, or for a medical procedure to help with glaucoma or another eye disease, we want to provide a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that makes your visit as stress-free as possible. We are here to help you, so please do not hesitate to let us know what you need.
